First official aromatherapy blend - done!

Up until now, my aromatherapy training has been largely theory-based...but having my tonsils out just felt like too good an opportunity to miss on putting that theory into practice...

As we've only learned about 10 essential oils so far, I decided to stick to the ones on the syllabus (as I happen to have them to hand in my beginner's kit).  I'm still learning the official property terms, but I knew I'd be looking for things like cytophylactic (encouraging growth of healthy cells/tissue), vulnerary (wound healing), anti-inflammatory, analgesic (pain killer) and an immuno-stimulant.  So....here's my chosen blend:

5% (strong) blend - as only being used on small area, around neck & throat (external only, I might add)
10 mls sweet almond oil for base/carrier (was either that or grapeseed)
5 drops bergamot
1 drop eucalyptus
3 drops sandalwood
1 drop tea tree

I made it last night and applied it before bed, and I certainly felt better this morning than I was expecting to - but that's probably because I've been expecting the worst!  But if it helps me even a little bit then excellent - I've got so much bruising below my chin from having my mouth propped open that eating is extremely difficult, and I'm expected to eat as much as I can, the rougher the better, to keep the tonsil area clear and help prevent infection.

I did umm and ahh over including sandalwood in my blend, but since my options were limited and I already owned it, I figured I could get away with it for now until I increase my stock to include something I can use as a replacement, or find a strain that is actually sustainable.
